Yes, it is a beautiful dress. Be glad you can sew because buying a pre-made Civil War dress can get realllly expensive. But as a reenactor, I'd suggest you might want to look at a few pictures before you make another one. It looks like you used a pattern from the late 1700s based on the fitted sleeves and ruffled square neck. (I'm guessing a pointed waist, too.) Ask any lady at a reenactment about how to proceed. Research takes time, but it is worth it. If I can mention two mistakes that should be avoided at all costs, it would probably be a zippered dress and wearing a ball gown in the afternoon. Keep sewing!

Beautiful dresses! I love old fashioned, especially Civil War dresses (they are so big!) dresses and feminine things to wear. I would love to do reenacting but have never done anything with it.
We did go to the Johnny Appleseed Festival a year or so ago and there was so much stuff to see. I loved all the ways that they used to do things. The displays were wonderful!

I just wrote down your recipe, I didn't get round to it today, was writing. But will try it first thing in the morning. Maybe even tonight. :)
