Return to Cranford Review!!!!
Our family did stay up a little late both weeks to watch “Return to Cranford”, here is our review:

As much as they pick up where we left this lovely town of Cranford in the first movie, with it’s distinct people and culture and the railway coming to the small town that does not so easily welcome change this sequel fell far short from our expectations. Over all we thought it was okay, but really enjoyed “Cranford” better (is that not like most movies with sequels?)! Sadly, we do not feel we want to own a copy of the sequel and will not be adding this to our girlie collection.
First off we noticed even more feminist actions and attitudes in the characters than in the previous movie which was quite sad and ruined the movie for us! With Miss Sarah Smith being engaged and then breaking it off because she thought marriage would hold her back from a writing career was disappointing!!!! We were quite saddened by some remarks made throughout the whole movie!
They crammed too much in only 3 hours and ended it quite abruptly (with no wedding at the end!) *Sigh* We do not want to give too much of the movie away for those of you who have not seen it, but to critique a movie with out giving some of it away is almost impossible, so If you have not seen it yet, we are quite sorry to “spill some of the beans”! We are also sorry to have to give such a dismal review.
So what did you think of the movie?
Love in Christ,
Mrs. Donna & Miss Antoinette

Well, I agree with what you said for the most part, I didn’t like the breaking of the engagement either so that she could pursue her career.
But, I did LOVE the movie!
I really couldn’t decided which I liked better, the 1st one or the second one.
I loved the new characters, and was not disappointed without a wedding (which is strange for me, as I do love a wedding at the end…weird.)
I appreciate your review however, as it makes me think more on it and not just view it as “just a movie”.
I tend to do that until I have watched a movie a few times, then realize some of the not-so-good qualities of the characters, etc. Although I have pretty good judgment on books, I am still learning to evaluate my movies better. We have our standards, like anyone, but even so, a G rated movie may not be wholesome…therefore all movies should be looked at with more critique then I give it typically.
Blessings to you dear Annie!

Miss Rachel~ Yes, I enjoyed some of the new characters, and there where parts of the movie I really enjoyed!
It is nice to watch movies with my mother as she also keeps me from getting too sucked into the movie and helps me evaluate better as well!
Thanks Mom!
It is true that we can get sucked into a movie and not realize parts in the movie that are not so good, until the third or fourth time watching it. I struggle with this still as well!
I am so glad the review made you think about the movie a bit more, I have really been trying to evaluate movies better as well!
Grace and Peace dear friend,
Miss Antoinette
